Evaluating Senior Facilities You Are Considering
At Senior Housing Of America Referral Experts, we can do all of the following:
- Evaluate the facility inside and out to determine if it appears clean, is odor-free, and seems well-maintained.
- Ask to see their license.
- Determine if the residents there seem to have similar needs to your family member.
- Look at the kitchen and evaluate the planned menu. Sample the food and ask if they can accommodate a special diet if necessary.

Choose the Ideal Facility for Your Aging Loved One
- Talk to the administrator and staff.
- Request a written list of additional charges, fees, and other costs that residents incur.
- Evaluate the activities calendar.
- Openly discuss the needs of your relative and determine if they can be accommodated by this facility.
- Have your loved one visit the facility and determine if she feels comfortable there.
